Installer SRIM<\/a> en renommant les deux fichiers en .exe.<\/p>\n

Then load the case Death ray !<\/p>\n

This case is very convenient as it load automatically the Air as a medium. We will modify only the three red circles and the total numbers of ions in bottom left :<\/p>\n

43 km => 4 cm<\/p>\n

H => He (click on PT Periodic Table to choose an alpha particle). <\/p>\n

1E+07 => 5E+03 keV  (5 MeV for the alpha particle)\/<\/p>\n

Total number of ions : put 100<\/p>\n

What is important is the longitudinal range at right : 34,9 mm in air for an alpha particle of 5 MeV.  You can also display the distribution of the number of ion if you tick the curve in the plot section.<\/p>\n
